A Knight to Remember in memory of Ricky Hoffman,
A Knight of Reflection
Sat Feb 20th ended up being a beautiful night of
reflection on the life of eleven yr. old Ricky
Hoffman. His spirit was all around us in the
loving atmosphere of memorable pictures,
swirling dancers, and hugs of comfort and
support for the Hoffman family. It was also a
passionate show of support for the Magical Moon
Foundation where Ricky was knighted as a brave
young knight fighting cancer.
A display of Rickys most treasured earthly finds
hung from a tree of love and remembrance created
by his mom, Pat Hioffman. It brought tears of
sadness but also lasting thoughts on how Ricky
saw life. He would have loved this evening in
his honor, I'm sure. It was a thumbs up event
from start to finish raising in the area of
twenty thousand dollars for Ricky's fellow
knights of the Magical Moon Foundation.
An abundance of donated auction items from the
community at large went half way across the
large ballroom of
The Shaws Center
paying homage to Ricky's memory. It was also a
clear display of passion for the Magical Moon's
dream to nurture and empower children with
cancer.
The night was full of surprises. Renaissance
king, Pat from the Kingdom of Silvermane
auctioned off swords for future knights and
encouraged people in the audience to think about
sponsoring knights. A magnificent presentation
of ballroom dancers dancing for Ricky and family
members singing in celebration of a young man's
difficult but beautiful life was a moving
experience for all who attended this Knight to
Remember evening.
I want to thank everyone who came to show
support to the Hoffman family, those who sent in
donations in honor of Ricky and all the people
who helped make this a memorable evening through
their hard work and devotion to our cause. I'd
especially like to thank the Hoffman family for
their kindness in hosting A Knight to Remember.
Sincerely,
