Saturday August 11th from 10 AM to 4PM.

This event will be in honor of the young knights of the Magical Moon Kingdom who are battling cancer. The Magical Moon Foundation based at 575 Summer Street in Marshfield is asking for children to come support other children by putting up displays all around the field where the tipi is. The event is to raise money and awareness that there are things we can be doing to make the world healthier and safer for children.

The Magical Moon Foundation considers their young Knights with cancer to be messengers to all of us that we need to start actively doing things that will keep more children from getting cancer. The large societies and organizations for cancer are working on the cure. We’re working on stopping it before it happens!

Guest knight of the day will be 7 yr old Sir Michael, Knight of the Magical Sun. He will be selling lemonade and giving out sunshine balloons the day of the event. Michael’s secret ingredient when asked  “What makes your lemonade special?”  “ It’s a pinch of love and strength.” Michael has been undergoing treatments for a brain tumor. He got his knightly name from his sunny personality, big smile and his love of sunshine. Michael’s favorite thing to say is, "you never give up!”

He will be joined by his big brothers, his mom and dad and numerous fellow knights of the Magical Moon Kingdom.

Michael will be featured in an upcoming book by Donna Green as a handbook and empowering tool to use in going through the battle of fighting off creepy

old cancer creatures. In the story Michael lives in a kingdom where people honor the earth by heating their homes with solar energy and using wind power. This puts less harmful things in the air that might bring the cancer creatures to his kingdom.

Michael is the hero in this portion of the story as are other knights of the Magical Moon Kingdom, fighting in their own way. His fellow knights will also be present the day of our Earth fair.

We’re looking for children to initiate this project but want families to get behind them and their idea. If we have fifty displays on solar energy alone we would see that as great. We just want children to see that we have a choice in how the world evolves in a healthy way. In other words think organic, less additives in our food, the use of more alternative clean energy, using less pesticides and herbicides that poison our water. Ask your children for their ideas of what they think healthy means. You might be shocked!

There will be some AWESOME PRIZES awarded for the children who have the best displays for promoting a healthy world. If they can combine the idea with selling something or raising money for the Moon there will be additional awards.

This can include money they’ve raised on their own before the event.

The child and family that bring in the largest donation to the Magical Moon Kingdom will win a Donna Green original painting.

It’s not so much about the prizes as it is about showing 7 year old Michael the Sunshine Knight that he has a magnificent army of people who love and admire him for his courage.

There will be activities and events for children to participate in all day. Pony rides, fencing demonstrations, face painting, organic tie dying, food, crafts, plays, music and much more for all to enjoy in the center of the field. There will be a $5.00 entry fee to the Magical Moon Foundation at the entrance to the field.

These children are the messengers.
