| Every year the town
of Scituate Massachusetts celebrates it’s long history
by throwing a very colorful street fair at the harbor.
We thought, “ What a great place to unite our knights
for the first time! Our day
started on a beautiful note with at least eight people
up at the crack of dawn to build the Magical Moon booth
.
I’m telling you, since I started
this dream, my dream has come true by how many people
really care about others and are always there to ask,
“What can I do?” To me those are the sweetest words on
earth besides, I love you!
I can’t say enough about the
Stasini family! Steve was sitting on the sidewalk
holding down our appointed spot when we arrived at the
crack of dawn. My former husband Bob Parent was also a
saint through this whole event. He set up and took down
the booths each day without a thought to the many other
balls he has in the air. Thank you from the bottom of my
heart guys.
Bob lost his mom and nephew to
cancer and feels a great devotion to helping others find
solace. Steve is on Maeve the Brave’s team of
supporters.
We now have two new tent tarps and
eight tall colorful flag poles with the knight’s names
printed on them. My brother, Dana Green cut a sign out
in the shape of a scroll and my son, Adam Parent hand
lettered it with The Magical Moon Knight’s Unite on it.
At this time I’m going to attempt
at mentioning all of the others who showed up and worked
to make the two days a very memorable experience for all
of us.
Jean Digiacomandrea, Dana Green,
Steve and Bobbie Sands, Mary Talbot, Rosee Uttal-Duffy,
Emily Dormitzer, Monique and Adam Parent, Candace
Cramer, Donna the Dynamic (oldest poster child for the
foundation!) We love your sense of humor, Donna!, her
daughter and strongest army member Kim, Linda and
Richard Kearney, Linda is otherwise known as Mary Fagic,
Katy MacDonald, Doug , Suzanne Kearney, Sir Alison the
Awesome!, and her dad Doug, sister Hannah, royal mum
Cathe, Hank, Jim and Suzanne Mularkey army of Sir Kyle
the Kind, Sir Tanya the Tender and her husband Bryan,
her son ,Sir River Sage our first knight and River’s
sister Mercy Rain, Sir Cayden the Courageous with his
royal mum Alanna, royal Dad David and a whole Royal army
of Grandparents!, Kathy Dunn, the entire Tasini
entourage, Sharon, Jessilyn, Kristin, answering to every
name under the sun for two days!, dad Steve, Maeve the
Brave, brother Finbar the Great, Aunt Stacy , Lily I
apologize but Stacy brought an army of friends and
family who’s names have escaped me at the moment but I
must say you were like a wall of strength there, Megan
De Lisi and her husband Jeffry who recently lost our
beautiful little Sir Luca the Loving, all of Luca’s
local loving army, Chip De Lisi, Michelle Cayer from the
bead combers kingdom ,Claire B, and friends , Jessie B
who designed our brochures, The elders from Mystic Isle,
Kamalini and Joanie, Sir Mary the Magnificent and her
royal mum Maribeth and grandma, the tons of people who
sent pieces of jewelry in honor of friends and family, I
know I’m forgetting names but my brain is not as young
as it used to be and the mother board is getting a
little full these days! Know that you are with this
group of people I want to thank and give a huge air hug
to!
The two day event flew by and it
was an unbelievable experience to have our knights show
up one by one. Donna the Dynamic lives up to her name.
She worked tirelessly without stop with her daughter Kim
standing ready to catch her for the entire time. I met
Donna recently though her daughter who told me through
tears her mom had three brain tumors. Since that time
she has been treated and all three are gone. We keep her
in that pink light as she finds new life!
Sir Tanya the Tender and Sir River
Sage Dunn came down from Maine with husband and dad
Bryan and little sister Miss Mercy Rain to help. They
are an unbelievable team! River is our first Knight of
The Magical Moon and he came in his royal garb as always
to set the mood!
Sir Cayden the Courageous arrived
in real style with his army in tow. He just wanted to
get out of the confusion and slay some dragons! Two year
old knights have no use for all of this boring standing
around stuff. They’re all about action! His mum Alanna
sent us an email after the event saying they’ve started
a project of their own called Cayden’s Change . They’ve
made a generous pledge to send some change our way.
Thank you so much Alanna. We keep Cayden in our prayers
as always. We’ll have a link to their project site soon.
Maeve the Brave… Well what do I
say but, “she’s got the idea of army support in the
bag!” Maeve has so many people around and behind her.
Where ever she walks they walk around her like a wall.
That energy is so strong there’s nothing that will stop
her!
Maeve had an MRI a few days before
the event and they gave her the good news that her tumor
has not grown! Way to go Maeve. Lets all see the world
like Maeve the Brave and see that glass half full. Keep
imagining that bump on her spine getting smaller and
smaller guys! We have a picture of Maeve trying on one
of our courage package hats. She looked very knightly!
Sir Alison the Awesome has stolen
our hearts. She is one of the most beautiful teenagers
I’ve ever met She’s so full of grace. She has just
designed our official Moon necklace and with the help
from Michelle Cayer will be selling them on the Magical
Moon Foundation web
site. She worked with all of the children making cards
for children in Dana Farber for Royal Rosie to bring in
with her on her weekly trips. Helping her was Kristin
and Jessilyn Tasini and Emily Dormitzer my newly adopted
daughter( don‘t tell her mom!). I called Kristin every
name I could possibly think of but her own and she
always answered this confused woman with a smile. Her
sister Jesilyn I swear will be president someday! She is
also beyond words. Such a positive family. Mom Sharon
was the first to come onboard to help with this and
worked to the very end saying, “ok what’s next”.
Megan De Lisi came down to my farm
a couple of nights before the event to make jewelry to
sell. Megan is the mom of three year old Luca the Loving
who just three months ago became a knightly angel. He
felt he could do more to help knights from the other
side and is working through his incredibly brave mom and
the Velveteen Rabbit. His spirit visits her through a
real little rabbit that comes up to her in her garden .
There will be more about this very soon on this site.
It’s such an incredible story of hope! Sir Luca the
Loving, … Spirit of the Rabbit.
I also want to thank the glue team
here. Jean Digiacomandrea, Dan and Bea Green, Mary
Talbot, Rosee Utall-Duffy, Linda Kearney, chief
organizing guru, Richard Kearney, Susan Bisignaro and
Candace Cramer. Without them there is no MMF.
All in all we had a great time.
Uniting the knights made us a stronger army . Nothing
will stop us now. We vow our allegiance to all the
beautiful knights around the world and we won’t stop
until we’ve reached every last one of them! |
