Attached are three pictures of Mooneek, from the Magical Moon Kingdom. She will soon be joining a herd of a 100 cows around the streets of Boston in Cow Parade 2006.

Mooneek is a character in Donna Green's next book Knights of The Magical Moon, written for children with cancer through the Magical Moon Foundation The book is part of the Velveteen Rabbit's Gift of Courage, a package that will be going to children free of charge as a means of empowerment for children and families dealing with childhood cancer.

It's auspiciously interesting that Cow Parade, a marketing organization for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund , chose to display Mooneek in Christopher Columbus Park in the North End for the summer.

This is where three year old Luca De Lisi played just a year and a half ago before he passed away from Medulla Blastoma (a brain tumor). Donna Green painted it in his honor before knowing where the cow would be placed.

Sir Luca the Loving is one of Magical Moon Foundation's Angel Knights. Mooneek the cow will have a story and picture of Sir Luca the Loving tied around her neck in the park so all can read about the young Knight's life, his family and their mission in his honor.

Mooneek is one of 100 cows to be put on the auction block this September to benefit The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Most cows will sell between 10,000 dollars a piece and will go as high as $100,000. as a donation to this very worthy cause.

Most cows are bid on by large corporations, organizations, restaurants and a few generous individuals.

We hope that Mooneek will bring in a substantial price at auction for the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Institute aiding in the ongoing fight against cancer.

The Magical Moon Foundation hopes that the same generous individual or group might generously consider donating the cow back to The Magical Moon Farm where she could help other children battling this hideous disease.

Mooneek, dressed below in medieval armor, is riderless to signify her missing knight, Sir Luca the Loving. She is accompanied by the Velveteen Rabbit flying by her side reminding us all that Love is what makes us real. A map showing the Mystic Isle of Elders and Moon Castle is hidden in the patches of her hide. Tiny Airy Fairies holding queasy pops for upset tummies swing from her harnesses.

Soon through the pages of Donna Green's magical new tale, Sir Luca the Loving and fellow knight, Sir River Sage, will be riding once again on Mooneek's back empowering the hearts of young knights everywhere battling cancer. There they will conquer the creepy old cancer creatures together and find the Place Beyond Sorrow.

September 22, 2006

Well, dear Moon Army we did our best, but unfortunately we couldn’t raise quite enough funds to get our Sweet Mooneek the cow back to the Magical Moon Kingdom.

We want to thank you all for your generous pledges. Your hearts sat there with us and made it easier for us to say good-bye.

The good news is she raised a nice amount of money that will be going to the Jimmy Fund. Our knights benefit from this on a daily basis.

Mooneek is going to a very nice family in Watertown and after meeting them Megan and I are happy that Mooneek is in good hands.

She will still be depicted in the pages of The Knights of the Magical Moon book with our brave little Sir Luca riding her into The Place Beyond Sorrow.

We continue to believe that all is happening the way it is meant to and we remain instruments of the Divine.

Megan Delisi and I are putting into action the Adopt a Knight program very soon in the classrooms across the country. We have lots of anxious teachers and organizations who are eager to teach children about compassion while at the same time supporting our little knights with their battle.

If you want to help with this project please contact Megan at Megdelisi@verizon.net

The program is called, Spreading Luca’s Light.
